Defending Democracy. Winning Elections.
We are Neighbors Organizing for Power and Equality. We direct support to Democratic candidates and to grassroots organizing groups in battleground states. We curate volunteer opportunities, advise donors, reach out on social media, and share opportunities to resist the current regime.
We’re an all-volunteer organization based in Washington, D.C., but our reach is nationwide.
Transitioning from 2025 to 2026
In 2025 we supported successful Democratic candidates and pivoted to resist the Trump administration. More specifically, we:
Supported state Supreme Court candidates in Wisconsin and Pennsylvania and state legislature candidates in Virginia. We had enormous success— every candidate we supported with donations or volunteers hours won. Thanks to all of you who canvassed, called, wrote and donated. Your time and dollars did make a difference.
Responded to alarming threats to democracy by curating and publicizing the most promising options for resistance, publishing newsletters every week, setting up a Signal chat, and joining marches, vigils and boycotts across the Washington, D.C. area.
In 2026 we will:
Pull out all the stops to win the US House in 2026. (You can start now by supporting our new slate of grassroots allies in battleground states. Learn more about them and donate here.)
Take aim at turning the Senate blue. (Yes, it’s a reach - but our democracy needs it.)
Expand and improve our recommendations for actions you can take to turn out and protect the vote — essential in 2026.
Continue to flag opportunities to oppose the Trump administration’s never-ending stream of outrageous and undemocratic actions. This currently includes protests and vigils marking the slayings of ICE protesters in Minnesota. (Our weekly bulletins will resume in mid-February; meanwhile, send us a message here if you’d like to join our Signal chat for rapid alerts on opportunities in the D.C. area.)
Join us! Read our bulletins, attend our meetings, and check out our calendar for specific opportunities to defend democracy.
